For the third consecutive year, Auum has renewed its Origine France Garantie certification.
Gilles Attaf, President of the Origine France Garantie and Service France Garanti certifications, personally presented the certification to Clément Houllier, CEO and Co-founder of Auum, on Tuesday, April 16.
In addition to designing and manufacturing its auum-S machine entirely at its factory in Châtillon, Auum has also chosen to source as many of the machine’s components as possible from French suppliers.
Auum renews its Origine France Garantie certification
For the third consecutive year, Auum, an industrial start-up based in the Île-de-France region, has renewed its Origine France Garantie certification, a prestigious certification that guarantees the origin and traceability of products manufactured in France.
To mark the occasion, on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, Gilles Attaf, President of the Origine France Garantie and Service France Garanti certifications, personally visited Auum’s production centre — the auum factory in Châtillon — to officially present the certification to Clément Houllier, CEO and Co-founder of the start-up.
A recognised certification promoting “Made in France”
Created in 2010, the Origine France Garantie certification guarantees the French origin of products through a rigorous audit process.
It differs from labels such as “Made in France”, “Manufactured in France” or “Produced in France”, which may be used as soon as the product undergoes its final substantial transformation on French territory.
This certification allows consumers to choose products designed and manufactured in France with greater transparency, while helping companies showcase their commitment to local production.
“We wanted to create a certification that gives real strength to French production!” says Gilles Attaf, President of the Origine France Garantie and Service France Garanti certifications.
Local production to support Made in France and reindustrialisation
To obtain this certification, Auum had to meet a demanding set of requirements ensuring that more than 50% of the unit production cost of its machine originated in France and that the machine acquired its essential characteristics on French territory.
Clément Houllier, CEO and Co-founder of Auum, explains:
“Producing locally goes beyond simply supporting the regional economy. By manufacturing our machine in our factory in the Île-de-France region, we simplify logistics, strengthen our relationships with suppliers and give greater meaning to our actions. This certification highlights our commitment to reindustrialisation and our ambition to transform the sector in order to have a positive environmental impact.”
Auum has indeed made the strategic choice to adopt a 100% integrated industrial model, opening its own production centre in Châtillon in November 2022 and prioritising a local supply chain by favouring French suppliers.
Chassis manufactured in Nantes, injection-moulded parts produced in Caen: these choices reflect a strong commitment to reducing the carbon footprint associated with the production of its machines as much as possible.
About Origine France Garantie:
Origine France Garantie is a non-profit organisation founded in 2010 that brings together all stakeholders wishing to contribute to a voluntary, innovative and transparent certification of the French origin of products and services.
Its mission is to defend and promote the France brand across all sectors of activity.
For more than 10 years, the association has managed the Origine France Garantie certification, which guarantees the French origin of products through an independent audit.
It is currently the only certification guaranteeing French origin to this level of requirement, setting it apart from the less stringent and less tightly controlled “Made in France” designation.
More than 3,000 product ranges are currently certified.
In October 2020, Pro France launched Service France Garanti based on the same model, in order to guarantee that a service is genuinely provided in France.
For consumers, this provides the opportunity to clearly identify the French origin of a product or service and make a fully informed choice.
For companies, it provides an effective way to highlight the maintenance, development or return of productive activities in France, both on the domestic market and internationally.
